The Impact of Email Marketing Platforms on Deliverability

Fabrício Yutaka Fujikawa, September 24, 2024September 24, 2024

Hello,

Recently, I received an interesting question from a client about the impact of email marketing platforms on message deliverability. This is a common concern that many of us face, especially when considering switching to a new platform.

The Client’s Question

My client was considering moving from an established email marketing platform to a more affordable option. Their main concern was: “Does email deliverability get impacted depending on the reputation of the email service provider I use?”

My Answer

Yes, deliverability can depend on the platform you use. One of the influencing factors is the IP used to send the emails.

Why This Matters to You

When we use an email marketing platform, we’re usually using a shared IP. This means that the reputation of that IP is affected by the sending practices of all clients using it. If the platform isn’t strict in enforcing good practices, this can become a problem for all of us.

What You Should Consider When Choosing a New Platform

If you’re thinking about switching to a new platform, here are some things I recommend considering:

  1. Research the platform’s reputation
  2. Read reviews from other users
  3. Check if there’s a trial period or money-back guarantee
  4. Compare with other options in the market

Alternatives I Suggested

Besides the platform my client mentioned (Acumbamail), I suggested two other options you might also consider:

  1. Tarvent
  2. Sendfox

The Importance of Your Own Reputation

Remember, one factor determining whether your emails will be opened is your reputation as a sender. The more valuable and interesting your emails are, the more likely your subscribers will be to open them in the future.

Conclusion

Choosing an email marketing platform is an important decision that can affect your email deliverability. However, with due diligence and good sending practices, you can maintain a high deliverability rate regardless of the platform you choose.

The valuable and relevant content you send is what really matters in the end. Focus on providing real value to your subscribers, and you’ll be on the right track to success in email marketing.

ReengagePro

I also mentioned to my client an automated service I offer to re-engage inactive leads. This service can help you recover lost revenue, improve email deliverability, and keep your subscriber base healthy and active. The best part is that you only pay for the leads we successfully reactivate. If you’re interested in learning more about this, feel free to contact me.
